I learned how to make real chicken soup from my mother-in-law. When my children were small we ate chicken soup every week, sometimes twice a week. In the morning I would fill a pot with water, a chicken, some odd root vegetables and a few herbs and let it cook for hours. Just the smell throughout the house of that chicken gently simmering in my kitchen was soothing, not to mention the relief that comes from having already decided what’s for dinner long before dinner time.
At 100 Bowls we cook up a fresh batch of real chicken soup every week and it smells just as good.
