Fermenting Basics (vegan)

Build probiotics into your diet and learn how to preserve fresh locally grown produce using the ancient art of fermentation.

Each participant will create and take home their own signature sauerkraut in a re-useable fermentation kit.

NEW! Basic Knife Skills Class (Vegan)

Sat. May 16th 11 am -1 pm $60

Learn how to hold, care for and use a chef's knife and transform your cooking!  You will learn cuts such as brunoise, chiffonade, julienne, dice, obliques.  Make and take home mirepoix (onions/celery/carrots), the base of soups and stews.

Together we'll make and enjoy a light lunch of spring rolls with two sauces (sunflower satay sauce and chili sauce).

DIY Refreshing Fermented Drinks

Sat. May 23rd 11 am -1:30 pm $35

Learn the principals of drink fermentation to create healthful, naturally refreshing fermented drinks.  Taste and learn about kombucha, water kefir (a non-dairy version of the popular probiotic drink), and pineapple tepache (a Mexican fermented drink).  Take home a kombucha SCOBY and/or water kefir grains to create these probiotic drinks.

Anti-Inflamatory Breakfast & Lunch

 Learn how to make a healthy breakfast and lunch that is GF/DF and supportive to the body in a therapeutic stage.
